Hiway

Hiway is a subscription platform for freelancers in France. It brings together company setup, invoicing, banking, transaction categorization, and documents to make everyday business admin easier.

As more people used the product and the team grew, the web application became harder to develop and keep fast. Teams also needed clearer ways to coordinate their work.

We gradually improved the web architecture, performance, and development process so the team could keep building as the product grew.

I led the web team and helped set the technical direction. I reduced the frontend bundle size by more than 50%, helped organize feature development, and contributed to introducing Playwright end-to-end tests.

The platform kept pace with a growing user base and team. The frontend became faster and more stable, while automated tests helped reduce bugs in existing features after changes.

My work with Hiway ended in April 2026 after five years of collaboration. The team continues to develop the platform.
