Overview

Arbor Education is a large UK-based EdTech platform used by schools to manage administration, data, and communication. The system had been developed over many years with a complex frontend stack combining React and legacy SenchaJS.

The Problem

Complex legacy codebase with departing team members, requiring rapid knowledge transfer and system stabilization.

The Solution

Took ownership of the legacy frontend, resolved long-standing bugs, and gradually migrated functionality to React.

My Contribution

Took over responsibility for a large legacy frontend codebase. Investigated and resolved bugs several years old. Migrated functionality from SenchaJS to React. Developed React Native applications. Maintained core components consumed by a large engineering team.

Impact & Results

Ensured continuity and stability during a critical team transition. Resolved years-old legacy issues that had been blocking progress. Became a key contributor relied on across multiple engineering teams.

Current State

Arbor continues to grow as a major UK EdTech platform. I moved on to focus on real-time gaming systems.
